Can a student get histoplasmosis from living in a dorm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not Contagious: Histoplasmosis is an infectious disease caused by inhaling small spores found usually in soil that have become airborne. The fungus grows best in soil that has been contaminated with bird manure or bat droppings (caves). Histoplasmosis is not contagious. It is not transmitted from an infected animal or person to someone else.
