Variable: Depends on the underlying disease process, and individual factors. Some people get near immediate benefits (within 48 hours) while others take a week or slightly more. Those numbers show improvement, but how long have you been on the advair? And at what dose? Have your symptoms improved? If so, just follow up with your physician at your next appointment. Good luck!

2-3 wks.: The bronchodilator part of advair may work in 30-45 minutes, the steroid part takes about 2 to 3 weeks to get optimal effects if your asthma is responsive to steroid. Your lung function improvement is significant proving that you are responding to advair. Do note that atenolol may reduce the response to asthma medication somewhat and if possible an alternate drug should be considered.
