Petechiae: These are tiny bruises and will go away on their own. The more important question is whether the underlying disease is being adequately treated. Discuss this with your doctor.

Your rheumatologist: You should be seen and educated about the possible causes of petechiae associated with vasculitis. They may be due to disruption of small blood vessels secondary to the inflammatory process, may be secondary to diminished numbers of platelets, or if there is a risk for embolization associated with your condition it may be due to that.
