A member asked:

Can you tell me what you suggest if add child has gluten free would prescription work?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Confusing question: Unless the child has true gluten sensitivity (increases IgA production to gluten, positive transglutaminase screening) removal of gluten from his diet would not have any predictable benefit. Gluten is not a necessary component to your diet, but is a component of too many processed foods to list. Avoiding it has no negative effects, other than the hassle. If gluten sensitive, it may benefit.
