Strep B: It depends upon the discretion of your doctor. If you are symptomatic your doctor may be inclined to treat you.

Peculiar diagnosis: Most labs would not go past confirming or excluding group A strep.Group B is an occasional benign visitor to the human GI tract, occasionally causes UTI's in women and deadly infection in newborns. I would consider it a novelty, but not worth much attention.Oral treatment of GBS carrier state in women has not been found useful in preventing neonatal disease.
