Site of infection: Enterococcus is a germ that can cause serious problems, especially in someone who may already be weakened by another disease. It would be important to know 'from where' the germ was found, and if it is actually causing disease... since it can occur in the GI tract normally and not cause any problems. If you have a blood stream infection, then I would believe it. Best to talk to an ID doc who knows
