It depends: A single solid noncalcified nodule in the lung is worrisome as it may represent an early lung cancer. Multiple nodules in both lungs indicates either the residual effects of prior lung infection or metastatic cancer. A biopsy may be indicated for diagnostic purposes but other noninvasive tests may be sufficient so you should seek consultation with a pulmonologist or thoracic surgeon.

Needs follow up: Usually the nodules less than 2 cm could be followed up with an imaging study in 3-6 month. If you had previous ct scan, we can compare with them. Please follow up with pulmonologist.
