Depends ...: The reason for referral may be your symptoms or findings on a previous exam. For example if you are going for a nuclear stress test your reason may be chest pain or shortness of breath. If you are going for a nuclear thyroid scan your reason may be hyperthyroidism or nodules seen on prior ultrasound. Hope this helps.
