Perhaps asking the doctor who made the referral this question is best. It could be that your condition requires monitoring for malignancy and your doctor felt this specialist was the best doctor to monitor you and obtain scans at approximate time intervals, monitor you for symptoms, etc. But, ask your doctor the reason for this referral for your own peace of mind. Best of luck to you!
