Muscle Pain: The lower attachment for the abdominal wall muscles is to the upper edge of the pelvis with some attachment to the pubic bone. The force of tensing this muscles, especially if overused (think excessive exercise without building up strength) will cause pain in this area. If the abdominal muscles are further stretch and weakened from a recent pregnancy, muscle injury is even more likely.
