Not really: Cat litter is usually clay. It is not good to eat it, but is not harmful. The worst part would be the cat poop or possibly parasites from the cat. Many children have eaten cat litter without any problems. If the baby develops vomiting, abdominal pain or diarrhea, then have tests done for an infection from the litter.

See below: There are two ways how the cat litter can affect the infants: indirectly through the pregnant mother, if she is taking care of the cat, they can acquire a congenital toxoplasma infection or directly, as they might get in touch with infected cat's excrements in the cat litter.
