Oculoplastic eval. : Lower eyelid swelling, bags or "thickening" can be caused by several things. You should see an oculoplastic eye surgeon for evaluation. They may recommend warm compresses and cleaning your lids and lashes with baby shampoo to treat blepharitis or surgery to remove excess fat from the lower lids. They may also perform tests to rule out other causes of lower eyelid swelling.
