Eye: This could be a plugged up eyelid gland, either a sweat gland (sty) or oil gland ( chalazion). The usual treatment for both is hot packs applied to the site. If not better with that in a few days or if there is redness to the eye and/or discharge, you should get it checked by a doctor.

Infected lid gland: It sounds like you have an obstruction of one of the oil glands of the lid and that it has become infected. Try some warm compresses to the closed eyelid for 5-10 minutes three times a day. If it does not improve in 48 hours, see your doctor.
