A member asked:

What is the highest fever can one year old baby get before going to the hospital?

Depends: What other symptoms does the baby have, how long has the fever been in progress, how high has the fever gone? Need more info, but temperatures above 103 begin to become very worrisome and should be seen by pediatrician.

Fever not the issue: A trip to the hospital, should be done in consultation with your physicians office.Fever is a sign of beneficial natural response to illness, not the enemy.Any 1yo may run 103-105 in response to simple illness, but the temp is less important than other kid signs. Lethargy, refusal of fluids, inactivity are more worrisome. The kid with 103 that smiles, feeds & plays is less so.Call the service first.
