There are risks: Surgery of any sort has some risks. Blepharoplasty in general is done for cosmetic reasons. Risks include undercorrection, overcorrection, scarring and, very rarely, visual loss. Patients are usually satisfied with the results, especially if the cosmetic problem was significant pre-operatively.

Do your research!: I recommend going to an oculoplastics doc because they do only eyes/eyelids. Many of them use lasers which leave a beautiful result with less bruising ; recovery. If a plastic surgeon does mostly breasts and tummies--move on...Oculoplastics or facial plastics....

Blepharoplasty: Blepharoplasty is a safe procedure. You must follow the perioperative instructions of your surgeon. For best results have your eyes evaluated by a board certified surgeon with expertise in blepharoplasty.
