A member asked:

Had mri of entire back;part of work up for cause of iritis. haven't met with doc yet, but know my results: minimal disc changes. what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Essentially normal: Minimal disc changes are to be expected at your age. I assume you are being evaluated for an associated problem such as ankylosing spondylitis, reiter syndrome (reactive arthritis), sarcoidosis, inflammatory bowel disease, or psoriasis. Make sure the radiologist reading the exam is looking for evidence of these possibilities as the findings can be subtle on mri.
