I would ask the: Physician that directly. Perhaps he is responding to the anxiety that you are expressing and trying to alleviate it through this surgical measure. Take care.

Excise it: You are obviously worried about it. Removing it completely will be the best option. If you don't, you will probably keep worrying. I agree it needs to come out...It will ease your mind!
