A member asked:

I have a flat clark's mole that was shaved twice and reappeared again. does this pattern indicate a potencial tendency to malignancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Needs complete excis: A mole should be excised with a negative margin. That is not always possible with a shave. Since it has already recurred, you need an excision, not another shave biopsy. Any recurrences like this make us concerned that your mole may be more aggressive and could be headed to become a melanoma. The key to prevention is complete excision, using a knife.
