Changing moles: I recommend that new or changing moles be evaluated in person by your physician or Dermatologist. Warning signs are ABCD. Asymmetry, meaning one side if different than the other. Border is irregular. Color, red white and blue are bad. Diameter larger than a pencil eraser.

No: In general moles do not develop overall depigmentation. Rather halo nevi can be seen . This is a benign skin lesion that is a result of a common melanocytic nevus undergoing an inflammatory process, such that a zone of depigmentation surrounds the nevus. When a melanoma is treated with intralesional BCG regression and depigmentation can be seen with diffuse loss of skin pigment (vitiligo)
