A 23-year-old female asked:
is it safe to fly with a sinus infection or with my sinuses burst from the pressure... if so how do i avoid that from happening?

Sinusitis: Use a decongestant, a saline nasal rinse using a neti-pot, possibly a nasal steroid spray. If you are still congested and can avoid flying would suggest that you do so. Good luck.

Assuming you mean sinus inflammation versus sinus infection, this may be very difficult to tell without seeing a physician. In general though if you have thick pus draining from your sinuses for more than a few days it is suspicious for a viral or bacterial sinus infection.

A 31-year-old female asked:
How do I know if sinuses are actually sinus infection?

Foul colored snot,+: We all have sinus cavaties as part of our anatomy. A sinus infection is characterized by yellow green often foul smelling nasal discharge, nasal congestion, often pain in the face, or behind the eyes, sensation of pressure and tenderness to the touch. Some will have pain in the upper teeth. After the foul discolored nasal drainage, the other features vary based on which sinuses and the severity.
