What's "laser-like lipo"? ads claim infrared treatments will "open up fat cells and drain their contents" is this regulated, and is it even legal?

False claims: These types of claims are completely misleading. Infrared laser sources have been shown in vitro to cause the cell membrane of fat cells to become more porous and leak contents . This happens in the lab and cannot be duplicated in the clinical setting because the laser does not penetrate through the dermis. I actually tested one of these zerona laser systems and confirmed the lack of result.

Non invasive: One of the devices is zerona. It has several laser heads that beam the light over the interested area. After 20 minutes, fat cells burst and free their content. The body absorbs the fat and eliminates it. You need multiple sessions and the results are subtle. Do not expect surgical result with it. It is fda approved but costly for what it does. Long term effects of fat absorption are unknown.
