Depends on surgeon: Both types of liposuction you mentioned use energy to break up the fat prior to its removal. Ultrasound causes the fat to break off by creating small district icd bubbles. Laser melts the fat by hearing the fat cells which absorb the laser energy. Both modalities claim to tighten skin, but ultimately the effectiveness of the treatment is dependent on the skill of the surgeon.

Liposuction options: Although there may be some small benefits, or surgeon preferences, to different liposuction modalities in certain situations -- the experience, technique, and skill of your plastic surgeon is more important in your final result than which modality of liposuction is used. Even standard liposuction or power-assisted liposuction can deliver results equivalent to those of laser or ultrasound.

Depends on Doctor: The type of lipo is not as important as the doctor performing the procedure. The various types of liposuction are all good when used properly and for the right patients. In my office we offer all kinds, traditional, ultrasonic, laser, etc. However, it really depends on the patient's anatomy and the areas being treated. There is not a "best" type that is applicable to all patients.
