See a physician: Painful urination can be caused by several conditions including bladder or prostate infection, or sexually transmitted infections. Blood in the urine is never normal and needs to be investigated. Possible causes are stones in the urinary tract, infection, or even cancer. Please encourage your husband to see a doctor promptly to have this problem checked out.
