Moisture contaminant: Most cements used to hold crowns in place require a dry environment to seal the crown to the tooth. If the tooth gets wet the cement won't hold. It's a pain but just go back and have it recemented.

Gold crown: Crowns can come off but it should be rarely rather than after 2 weeks old. Sounds like you have an ill-fitting crown or a preparation that has inadequate retention to hold the new gold crown. Your dentist should redo this crown at no cost to you. Good luck.
