A member asked:

What happens to the muscle during exercise if there's a calcium deficiency? /other than cramps/

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Calcium deficiency is more likely to be diagnosed by athletic coaches than by someone who is scientifically literate. Calcium pills are promoted directly to coaches to help "cramps". While vitamin d deficiency is rampant among young people, including athletes, true calcium deficiency is very rare. If you can tolerate milk at your age, great; overdoing the pills can make you sick.
