For help with stress and depression, you could see a psychologist (phd or ma), a psychiatrist (md or do) who does psychotherapy, social worker (lcsw or msw), or counselor (lpc, etc). You should ask these professionals about specialty areas, and see whether you feel rapport. Your family doctor may have referrals.

Several: Psychiatrists, clinical and counseling psychologists and social workers all see patients with issues of stress and depression. Psychiatrists and clinical psychologists tend to see patients with more severe symptoms, and counseling psychologists and social works see patients with less severe symptoms, but this is not always the case.
