What could have caused me to get thyroid at 18?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid problems: I don't know what you mean by "get thyroid". Presumably your thyroid is either overactive or underactive. Either way, the most likely cause is autoimmune thyroid disease, either Hashimotos (hypo) or Graves (hyper). Your body makes antibodies against the thyroid. This tends to run in families (genetic). It can be treated, and should not affect your life much.
