Tooth pain: You have three choices.1-take otc pain medication such as advil, motrin, aleve (naproxen) or what you would normally take for a headache. 2- see if you can get an earlier appointment with your dentists or 3-find another dentist, at least for this emergency, who can see you right away. In our office, we can always make room for true emergencies on the same day. Personally, i would want to be seen the same day.

Toothache: OTC painkillers may provide some relief until you can get to your dentist. Tooth pain is caused when the nerve root of a tooth is irritated by infection, decay or trauma. The good news is the prognosis is good with appropriate dental care. Remember, toothache pain will not go away on its own. Don't miss your next Thursday appointment.
