A member asked:

Can someone tell me if smoking is bad for someone with insulin resistance?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bad for EVERYONE: Insulin resistance is highly related to the development of diabetes, and diabetes is itself a risk factor for development of coronary heart disease and myocardial infarction (heart attack), the number one cause of death in the us. Smoking is the second most common risk factor for heart attack. Combining them makes heart disease highly likely. Plus various cancers, bronchitis and emphysema.
