No: Insulin resistance is extremely common in PCOS whether or not it is the cause and women with PCOS very frequently have gestational diabetes. Insulin resistance makes the ovarian changes worse and the ovarian changes make insulin resistance worse. It is a chicken and egg kind of thing with PCOS. Hope this explanation is clear.
