How long after open carpal tunnel surgery is it swollen?

Several weeks: Most patients will notice a fullness over the incision area for several weeks. After three weeks i will have patients message the scar with the intent to desensitize and soften the scar.

It varies: Swelling after carpal tunnel surgery varies. I have seen some patients develop very little swelling after the procedure, while others have a significant amount. In terms of duration, swelling decreases slowly over time, completely resolving within 6-8 weeks. Significant swelling, redness or increasing pain at any point after carpal tunnel syndrome should be reported to your surgeon immediately.

About 2 weeks: It takes about two weeks for the incision to heal and swelling is common during this time. Once the wound is healed scar message helps to reduce residual swelling. Most people are doing quite well by 4-6 weeks post-op.
