Another few days: Carpal tunnel surgery involves cutting the ligament that runs over the median nerve. Even with key hole surgery, the ligament still needs to be divided. It will improve over the next few days. Keep your arm elevated to help decrease swelling. This usually helps the burning type pain.

Talk to your surgeon: A lot depends upo n what "the problems are common issues hand pain due to something else not normal sensation failure to understand limits in recovery poor communication regarding time to "heal" most dont need pain meds a few days later and it is ok to transition away from them for most.
