Rice vs. bread: Usually white products have more calories than the colored ones, so white rice and bread (flour) can cause weight gain if consumed excessively. Some people are gluten intolerant. In that case rice is a better choice. Moderation with both is advised and then both can be equally good.

Both: Both rice and bread, being carbs from grain, can cause weight gain if too much is eaten. Rice may be slightly healthier than bread, both ok in smaller amounts.
