A member asked:

Ate bread last night, one bad tasting bite, then saw red/orange mold? threw away. +5 hours = bad belly pain, feverish, and nearly fainted. problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Grossed out, right?: I don't suspect you could've contaminated with enough material to make you sick, especially since you spit it out. That's the wonderous nature of taste buds being used for defensive adaptation. Also, stomach acid is pretty powerful against most biologic agents. I think the grossness got you sicker than the bread itself. Nonetheless, stay well hydrated, eat normally and call your doctor.
