Watch his symptoms: I'm guessing you meant 12 hr after eating? If your son is acting fine and not complaining about his stomach, i would not worry too much. Stomach illnesses can be very short sometimes. He might develop some diarrhea in the next day or so. Make sure he stays hydrated and let him eat if he's hungry.
