Consult PCP: Excess upper intestinal gas may be due to swallowing more than usual amount of air, while eating, drinking or chewing gum and it is a normal effect of bacteria on food, we eat. Bacterial overgrowth also leads to intestinal gas and cause bloating, belching and abdominal or stomach discomfort. Consult your PCP, and he/ she may refer you to Gastroenterologist.
