A member asked:

Is it common practice to prescribe compazine (prochlorperazine) for a 17 yr old for upset stomach from pollen allergies, took for a week and had extreme allergy.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nausea: Compazine (prochlorperazine) is a well known anti-nausea medicine, but one that has a lot of side effects. I personally have never had a patient with nausea caused by pollen allergies that was so bad that they needed any anti-nausea medication, but i don't know how severe this child's symptoms were. I generally try to treat the allergies first, which i think is pretty standard practice.
