Focus on Zyrtec: Zyrtec is a very effective antihistamine. Starting dose of zyrtec for age and weight is 2.5 ml once daily. Maximum dose of Zyrtec for age and weight is 5 ml once daily or 2.5 ml twice a day. Claritin is less effective- dosage is 5 ml once daily.
