Can i give my 6 year old children's nyquil before bed for her coughing if i gave her children's flonase today for allergies? she has the cough due to post nasal drip because of pollen allergies?

Current evidence doesn't show any benefit of using cough syrup for children. If you believe it is the common cold, a teaspoon of honey, nasal irrigation, and Vicks vapor rub are safe and effective. Flonase is appropriate for seasonal allergies along with an antihistamine such as Zyrtec or Claritin. Night time coughing can also be a sign of asthma

We never recommend cold remedies for children. Agree that honey, hot tea or soup, humidifier or even a steamy shower are safe ways to relieve a cough. If her cough is seasonal, allergy may be a consideration. If the cough is constant, I agree that investigating a diagnosis of asthma is reasonable. If the cough is persistent, please see your pediatrician.
