A member asked:

Pain in shoulder feels like a nerve. how can i move it to get rid of the pain woke up with it sore no trauma ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nerve or muscle: It could be a muscular discomfort or a pinched nerve in the neck. If it hurts more turning toward the shoulder, it suggests a pinched nerve. If it hurts more turning away from the shoulder, it suggests a sore muscle. Try heat, rest, rubbing liniment and an antiinflammatory like advil (ibuprofen). In pinched nerve cases wearing a soft neck collar relieves some of the discomfort. Symptoms should improve soon.
