I had a sonogram of my thyroid. i have 9 nodules/cyst. 2 solid hypoechoic heterogeneous nodules. what does this mean? cancer?

Common problem: Nodules of the thyroid are common, especially in women. Most thyroid nodules are benign. "solid", "hypoechoic", "heterogeneous" nodules are the most common ones seen. If they are large enough (at least 1 cm), we typically recommend doing a fine needle biopsy to make sure they are benign.
