I take ambien (zolpidem) occasionally, maybe 2-3 times a month. usually works great. the last 2 times i took it, i felt no effects. didn't get sleepy at all?

In bed right away?: Why Ambien (zolpidem) taken only occasionally would work so well for you and then suddenly stop having any effect is a mystery to me. Have you been getting into bed as soon as you have taken it? In my experience that's very important. Are you sure the tablets are actually ambien? Have you started some other medication or using a substance that you were not when Ambien was working for you?

Depends: What occurs that you need a sleep aid? You may need to determine if you truly get benefit from this medication. Have you discussed this with your prescriber? There may be another medication that will work better for you.
