I've had a large prominent floater that looks like a hair appearing in the inside corner of my left eye for a few days. ophthalmic retinal exam was clear. normal sometimes?

Normal perhaps: But you have high myopia or recent trauma to the eyes , you need to get your eyes checked regularly. Hope our ophthalmology colleagues can she more light on this.

Common : Opacities in the vitreous gel that fills the eye are enhanced when the light is bright and diffuse, and are called floaters. Patients who notice floaters for the first time should have a retinal exam, as you did, to make sure that there are no associated retinal tears or other problems. Floaters are as common as wrinkles on the skin....
