Pulmonary embolism: Patients with a pulmonary emoblism (pe) do not get chest pain. If it is not fatal, patients with pe's have shortness of breath. Most people do not die of pe's, if they are not large. That is not the case if they have a large pe. If the pe is large enough, death occurs quite quickly. A pe is diagnosed by a ct angiogram of the lungs. Why are you worried about a pe?
