Is taking antibiotics for dental visit for mitral valve ring with native repair every 6 months to year, each year problem for antibiotics resistance?

Antibiotic prophylax: Resistance should not generally be an issue with this infrequent use of antibiotics for dental work. The issue is whether this type of prophylaxis is actually effective. It has never been shown to be clearly effective in humans, but continues wide usage.

Antibiotic: The wide spread use of prophylactic antibiotic has become a concern. The best way is to ask your MD as to how long you should continue taking antibiotic before the dental procedures
