Sedative: Are you asking about a sleeping agent for long term use? Tolerance is the rule when trying to get sedative long term effect with benzodiazepines like xanax; never a good idea. The best next step would be to slow switch to a non-benzodiazepine sedative, in a monitored way (by your dr). Stronger sedatives will eventually produce the same phenomena (tolerance/addiction). Ask your dr, good luck.

Not 'strong, weak': All benzo tranquilizers work on the same receptors, and while doses vary, they all work equally when given in equivalent dose. The issue isn't finding a stronger strong (you are very likely experiencing tolerance, which happens with all drugs in this class), but finding the cause of your anxiety. Ther are different anxiety disorders which require diferent treatments. Talk to your psychiatrist.
