A member asked:

Is elevated pulmonary artery pressure is indicator of congestive heart failure? echo showed ef = 39% with pap = 40.

It may be: The ejection fraction is lowish and perhaps a somewhat compromised left cardiac output may account for the somewhat high pulmonary arterial pressure. Please forgive my frankness, though. What you should really be worried about in your situation is smoking cessation. This could be the key to a much better set of numbers and a much better life.

Pulmonary pressure: Increased pulmonary pressure has many causes and long standing congestive heart failure is one of them.
