Many causes: It is common for girls to have irregular periods when they first start menstruating, however, having no periods for over a year is unusual. There are many possible causes, including thyroid problems or hormonal problems. I think your daughter should be seen by her doctor for a physical exam and some bloodworm to figure out what's going on.
