Selegiline or Emsam: This is a type of antidepressant called an monoamine oxidase inhibitor (maoi) that increases levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and Dopamine in your brain. Although very effective, maois are not commonly used for depression due to the dietary restrictions (can't eat anything with tyramine - beer, aged cheese, etc). Selegiline comes in a patch version called emsam, which lessens the restriction.
