A member asked:

I have a small section of dentin showing in one of my teeth, what caused it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Serveral asnwers: It can be from trauma (chipping of the enamel) to wear of the enamel over it, to recession exposing root surface (which has no enamel but a very thin layer of cementum which is easily abraded).
